American Rottweiler Club Programs for Juniors
The primary goals of ARC’s programs for juniors are to promote and encourage juniors to participate in purebred dog events with Rottweilers, as well as to become active in the American Rottweiler Club. ARC has created ways to support and encourage juniors to maintain their enthusiastic interest in conformation and performance competitions with Rottweilers. The ARK: A free subscription to the ARK, the newsletter of the American Rottweiler Club, will be provided to all juniors until they reach the age of 18, at which time they would be eligible to become a regular ARC member. Contact the Board Liaison for the ARK to begin a free subscription.

2024 JUNIOR HANDLER STATISTICS
- The Kalyn Rae Bastyr Top Junior Handler Award: A bronze of a young girl with a Rottweiler on a wooden base will serve as a permanent record for the club and the name of the #1 Junior (ARC system) will be added each year. The recipient will be honored and presented with a commemorative memento at the Top Dog Evening at the National Specialty.
- Top 10 Junior Handler Awards: The Top 10 Junior Handlers (ARC Statistics) will be honored each year at the Top Dog Evening at the National Specialty and presented with a certificate and an ARC Achievement Medallion.
- Junior Handlers In Performance Events Awards: Any junior who titles a Rottweiler through the AKC’s Junior Handler In Companion/Performance Events Program will be honored at the Top Dog Evening at the National Specialty the following year and be presented with a certificate and an ARC Achievement Medallion. If more than one title was put on the same Rottweiler during a calendar year, there will only be one certificate with all information included. Juniors must apply for this award by sending a copy of the AKC Junior Recognition Certificate to the ARC Junior
- Junior Handlers In Carting Test Awards: Any junior who titles a Rottweiler to an ARC Carting Title will be honored at the Top Dog Evening at the National Specialty the following year and be presented with a certificate and an ARC Achievement Medallion. If more than one title was put on the same Rottweiler during a calendar year, there will only be one certificate with all information included. In the case of Carting Team titles, one certificate will be issued with both names included. Juniors must have submitted a Junior Handler Carting Title Certification Form to the ARC Junior Liaison in order to qualify for this
There will be no entry fee for the Junior Showmanship Classes at the National Specialty or National Sieger Show.
Special prizes and/or rosettes will be offered on the Rottweiler Only/Armetale Day to the Highest Scoring Junior in each performance event, as well as to any junior with a dog passing a Tracking Test.
Gift bags will be presented to Juniors participating in Junior Showmanship and Performance Classes.
Juniors will be given a complimentary ticket to the Annual Awards Banquet where a special table will be provided for all juniors to sit together.
A special seminar or other events just for juniors may be offered.
Juniors may be allowed to attend the ARC Judges Breed Study Seminar, the ARC Rottweiler Measurement Survey, and/or the ARC Rottweiler Measurement Survey Evaluators Seminar free of charge.
Juniors may be asked to help with handing out the awards, trophies, help with Annual Meeting sign-in, etc. in order to give them an opportunity to meet some of our members.
Westminster Stipend: A $250 stipend is available to any junior that successfully gains an invitation to, and competes in, the Junior Showmanship Competition at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show with a Rottweiler.
AKC/Eukanuba Stipend: A $250 stipend is available to any junior that successfully gains an invitation to, and competes in, the Junior Showmanship Competition at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship Dog Show with a
AKC Junior Agility Competition, Junior Obedience Classic & Junior Rally Classic Stipend: A $250 stipend is available to any junior that competes in the AKC Junior Agility Competition, Junior Obedience Classic and/or Junior Rally
ARC National Specialty Show Stipend: A $100 stipend is available to any Junior who competes in the Junior Showmanship and/or Top 20 Competition at the National Specialty.
A $1,000 scholarship, awarded each year to a deserving candidate. It may be won a second time, although preference is given to Juniors who have not received it previously.
