Agility Trials are mentally and physically challenging for your dog AND you! Your challenge is to memorize a course of several dozen jumps, tunnels, weave poles, and other obstacles, then guide your dog through executing each obstacle perfectly and in perfect order. Your dog’s challenge is to follow your cues and perform as he has been trained, off leash and with little to no barrier between the team on the course and the teams preparing to run.
Oh, and did we mention, you only saw the course for the first time THIS VERY MORNING? But don’t worry, you have a whole EIGHT minutes to walk the course and plan your strategy… along with the 60 other handlers entered in the class. Easy peasy, right?
Agility trials are very exciting and great fun for both dog and handler alike. Once you try it, you will be hooked! Rottweilers are rarely the very fastest dogs in their jump heights, but they are ALWAYS impressive, and when trained and handled correctly, do their best for their handlers every time the team steps up to the line together.
