On February 10, 2018 several members of ARC/CRC participated in this year’s Westminster Meet the Breeds Booth representing the American Rottweiler Club. We were over the moon excited when we were handed a Group 1 Blue Ribbon for Best Booth in the Working Group!! Over 100 breeds participated, and over 10,000 visitors came to Pier 92/94 to see and learn about dogs and of course watch the Agility Championships.
This year we pulled out all the stops and rolled out the red carpet to show everyone how amazing and versatile our breed is. Our booth theme this year turned New York “Gotham City” into “New Rott City” with both Superheroes and everyday heroes. Last year we showed off our working dogs disguised as policemen, nurses, cowboys, and athletes – this year they were joined by Wonder Woman, Captain America, Batman, and our very own Master Chef!
Last year’s visitors enjoyed stopping and posing for photos with the pups, so this year we set the stage for a proper red carpet event with a large step & repeat banner and velvet rope designed to bring in the PuppaRottzi!
There was a line waiting for photos most of the day which went from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Our hard-working booth staff included;
- Alex Niles & “Talos” (NYPD & Batman)
- Peter & Marilyn Piusz & “Katie” (Master Chef)
- Hollee Russell & Diana Shearer & “Josey Jo” (Nurse, Security & Wonder Woman)
- Lauren Jorgensen & “Dream”
- Donna & Patrick Worthington & “Maverick” (James Bond & Captain America)
Congratulations to everyone who made this event such a success for Rottweilers. All our breed ambassadors were amazing and really seemed to enjoy all the attention they were getting. They spent the entire day with the biggest Rottie smiles on their faces patiently posing for photos, and sharing laughs with all who stopped by. Thank you to all who participated, we wonder what next year’s booth will be…. stay tuned!
