The American Rottweiler Club pulled out all the stops this year and staged a mock “Rottapalooza” concert to help educate over 15,000 attendees about the merits and versatility of the Rottweiler breed. Out of the 131 breeds represented, we had a coveted spot right by the main entrance across from the media / TV booth. Each year the hosts select the top booths for each group and this year we won 3rd Place in the competitive Working Group.
Our incredible teams this year were:
- Donna & Patrick Worthington managing “Hard Rocker / Country Star”, aka “Maverick”
- Alex Niles & Toni Monaco managing “Elvis/Prince”, aka “Talos”
- Peter & Marilyn Piusz managing “Tina Turner”, aka “Katie”
- Hollee Russell & Diana Shearer managing “Madonna & Cyndi Lauper”, aka “Josey Jo & Eastwood”
We selected this year’s theme to again highlight the versatility of our breed by featuring “stars” from a range of musical styles each corresponding to different music genres.
Anyone who has ever worked a large Meet the Breeds event knows the pressure put on the booth dogs and these Rottweilers were all outstanding examples of our breed – and entertained many with their huge Rottie smiles posing patiently for photos with their fans. Everyone loved their costumes and many visitors noted remembering some of the dogs from prior years’ events. We couldn’t be more proud of these pups!
Our talented booth crew found an artist who created 5 Rottie cartoon characters featured on the posters which they turned into line art coloring pages that became handouts for any child visiting the booth. They also had tattoos made of the concert logo which the kids enjoyed wearing and receiving. Click HERE to download the coloring pages.
The colorful characters then became inspiration for launching our ARC Webstore which features concert merchandise including t-shirts, pillows, notebooks, mugs, & more! Be sure to check them out as each item we sell helps us support Rottweiler Health Foundation, Rottweiler Rescue Foundation, Rottweiler Rescue Foundation Disaster Fund and the American Rottweiler Club.
