Top 20 Judges Selection ProcedureApproved by ARC Board of Directors: 11/15/07 The Top 20 Committee will submit 3 names in each category of judges for vote by the ARC Board. Results will only be known by the ARC Secretary and the Top 20 Chair. Excluded from the process of selecting the judges will be any Committee member who has or had any interest whatsoever in any dog eligible to compete for the current year. Committee members will disqualify themselves if this circumstance exists or may be disqualified by the Chairman. Excluded from judging the event will be any person actively serving on the Top 20 Committee, any person actively serving as an Officer or Board Member of the ARC, any person who owns, co-owns or has handled a dog in the current year Top 20 competition, and any person who has judged within the past 10 years. In the event this transpires, the dog would only be shown “For Exhibition Only”, meaning they could exhibit but would not be in competition to win. Judge Categories:
Each participating Top 20 Committee member may nominate up to two (2)
judges in each category and forward the names, upon call, to the Committee
Chair. The Committee Chair, after reviewing the nominated judges for
eligibility, will forward the names of the eligible nominees to the
participating Committee members. The participating Committee members
will return the ballot, marked in priority order, to the Chair who will
present the slate to the Board for vote. The ARC Secretary and the Top
20 Chair will keep the results CONFIDENTIAL. The Chair will secure the
acceptance of the winning nominees, based on availability. The names
of the winners in each category will be revealed only to the Catalog
Chair. The names of those selected to judge MUST be kept CONFIDENTIAL
until the day of the event. The Chair will select the necessary Stewards
