ARC Board Requests Recommendations for AKC Lifetime Achievement Awards

ARC recently received a letter from the AKC asking for nominations for the AKC Lifetime Achievement Awards. And we would like to give our members an opportunity to recommend who our nominees should be.

Three awards will be presented in recognition of exceptional participation in the fancy, one each, in the areas of Conformation, Companion Events, and Performance. Nominations are solicited from AKC Member Clubs for constituents who have contributed significantly to our Sport for an extended period of time on a national level.

We have been asked to nominate one candidate in each of the three event categories, although clubs may nominate in only one or two categories. Current AKC Staff and Board members are not eligible, nor are past recipients. For more information on the awards and a list of past recipients go to www.akc.org/news/lifetime/

When the AKC has received the responses and computed the results, ARC will be allowed to vote on the top three nominees in each category.

Presentation of the awards will be made in conjunction with the December 2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship in Long Beach, California.

We encourage you to consider your recommendation(s) seriously. ARC must have our nominations to AKC no later than May 7, 2010. We would like your nominations no later than April 26, 2010, so that the ARC Board can consider all recommendations before submitting our final three nominations to AKC.

Recommendations, along with a brief reason why, should be sent to:

Ann Glynn, ARC Secretary

Live Oak, CA 95953-9542

Email submission is preferred.
