Ballot Results - Statistics
A ballot was recently sent to the membership to vote on a change to
the wording of “The American Rottweiler Club Top Ten Awards – How Points
Are Calculated”.
The current wording:
The top ten Rottweilers in each level of titles will be based upon
numbers of dogs defeated. If one or more dogs/Juniors receive the
same number of points, they will be considered tied for that place
and the dog(s) with the next number of points would be in the next
place, i.e. dog A & B have 60 pts. and are tied for 3rd place;
dog C has 59 pts, he will be in 4th place. A dog must have a minimum
of 10 points to be in the Final Top Ten Rankings in all areas, except
Carting* and Junior Handlers where the 10 point minimum does not apply.
In Carting, dogs must have a minimum of 5 points to be in the Final
Top Ten Rankings in the Carting Started and Carting Intermediate Levels.
In Carting Excellent and all Team Levels, there is no minimum.
The proposed change:
Motion to reword the current Top 10 calculations in performance events
(shown above) from 'the dogs must place in a class, then 1 point is
counted for each dog defeated in the class' to 'the dog must place
in a class, then 1 point is counted for each dog defeated in the class
plus 1" to become effective for the 2010 Top 10 calculations.
The balloting closed on March 15, 2010. 204 ballots were returned and
the results are as follows:
57 votes in favor
of the proposed language on Points Calculation.
147 votes against the
proposed language on Points Calculation.
The motion has failed and the current wording remains in effect.
Respectfully submitted,
Ann Glynn
