MESSAGE FROM THE ARC PRESIDENT

Hello ARC Members,

Sorry to have not written in the last three weeks but I do have some good news to report.

The Legislative Committee is having some good success. One town, Mashpee Massachusetts, has voted to NOT pass a breed ban. The committee, along with many other groups, worked very hard on this particular city. In Jackson Tennessee we have had personal responses from the council to letters written by the committee. Additionally, committee member Robin Cannon drove from her home in Kentucky and managed to speak at the council meeting AND get quoted by the local paper. The final vote is pending. The committee meets every other week, and continues to be overseen by Barbara Haywood. They are doing an outstanding job. We would welcome any "takers" to join us in the effort for our dogs.

We, as a Board, also welcome our newest Director Stuart Larsen. Despite a hectic work schedule Stuart agreed to step up to the plate and fill in for Ann's Director spot after she agreed to be Secretary. This is the kind of dedication it takes to keep an active club functioning.
